How long does your wedding website stay online?
That differs enormously: from two months after the wedding at bruiloft-website.com to 24 months at Forever and Ever and Invitesly. Weddamo and Zeiden Ja hold to twelve months; with Weddamo extending afterwards costs € 39 per year. Two large Dutch providers say nothing about it at all.
Last checked on 31 July 2026It is the question almost nobody asks before buying, and the only one you regret later. That page holds not only your location details, but also your wedding photos, the aftermovie and the messages your guests have left.

Why this matters more than you think
During planning this feels like a detail. You are busy with a guest list and a location, not with what happens in two years.
The problem comes later. With most providers that page keeps growing after the wedding: the photographer puts the official photos on it, the videographer the aftermovie, and your guests leave messages and their own photos. Exactly when the page gains emotional value, a counter starts ticking down.
And unlike a physical album you do not notice it expiring. At most you get an email that disappears among the rest, and one day the link you sent to your guests stops working.
Counted from when?
This is the most important detail in the table above and it is on no comparison site.
Most couples buy their wedding website six to eighteen months before the wedding, because you send your save the date half a year to a year ahead. If a provider counts 24 months from your purchase, and you buy eighteen months ahead, you have half a year left after the wedding. Not two years.
Forever and Ever covers that with a promise: if your wedding falls later, they extend at no cost. That is neatly arranged, but it is a promise you have to trust rather than something that is automatically right.
With Invitesly the duration is tied to the wedding date, not to an account or subscription. Working through a wedding planner? Then your page also stays online if the planner stops using Invitesly. The page is yours.
Invitesly counts from the wedding day itself, so it does not matter how early you buy.
What you should ask: does the period count from my purchase or from my wedding day, and what happens if my wedding moves?
What happens when your page expires
Here the openness is smallest of all. With almost no provider is it described what exactly happens on the day the term runs out.
The possibilities vary. Some platforms take the page offline but keep your data for a while, so you can extend. Others actually delete. Flinnley is clearest about it: thirty days after cancelling, your event is permanently deleted.
For your photos that is a real difference. Offline is annoying, deleted is irreversible.
The question you really need to ask
Not "how long does it stay online", but: can I download everything if I stop?
Because as long as you can bring in your photos, videos, guest book messages and guest list in one go, the retention matters far less. Then the page is a lovely place for as long as it exists, and you have the content for ever.
Invitesly keeps your page online for 24 months after the wedding day, without an active subscription being needed for it. Until that date you download the photographer's photos per photo or everything at once, and after that you can extend for € 9.99 per twelve months. For the other providers examined we found no information on this, which does not mean it cannot be done: ask.
And advice that goes against our own interest: never trust a single platform as the only place to keep your wedding photos. Download them yourself, put them on a drive of your own or in your own cloud, and do it in the year of the wedding and not five years later. That goes for us just as much as for any other provider. Companies stop, conditions change, and your wedding photos are irreplaceable.
Where this information comes from
All terms come from the providers' own pricing pages and frequently asked questions, retrieved on 31 July 2026. Where something is not published, it says "not stated" instead of an assumption. We have no paid placements and no affiliate links.

What happens to my wedding photos if my wedding website expires?
