What is a digital wedding invitation and how does it work
A digital wedding invitation is one personal page that brings the invitation, RSVP and guest list together on a link that guests open without an account or download. With Invitesly that costs € 99 one-off, with no guest limit, and the page stays after the wedding for 24 months as a place of memories.

At a traditional wedding the communication runs through separate channels: a paper card for the invitation, an email or message for the RSVP, an Excel list to keep track of who eats what, and afterwards a shared folder or group chat for the photos. A digital wedding invitation bundles that on one page: the invitation itself, the day programme, RSVP and dietary needs, and afterwards the photos and messages from guests, all in the same place, reachable through the same link.
That is not new technology; it is mostly fewer links in the chain. Guests only have to remember one link, and you do not have to keep track of who responded through which channel.
How it works for the couple
You choose a theme and fill in the parts: the text of the invitation, the location, the day programme, dress code, gift list. Next to every part you see the invitation move along directly. Then you put in the guest list, from Excel if you already have one, and send each household its own link. That can be done early, as soon as the text and the location are in; you fill in the rest later. That is why a separate save the date is usually not needed.
That link per household is more than a detail. You see exactly which household has opened the invitation but not yet responded, and anyone who has not responded automatically gets a reminder before the RSVP deadline. Nobody to phone. How the guest list works exactly, you can read in Guest list and RSVP.
How it works for the guest
A guest opens the link and sees a page on which the names of the household are already filled in: "Who is coming? Jan, Marieke, grandma Toos." Per person they say which parts of the day they are at and what their dietary needs are. No account, no password, no app. Questions such as "where can I park?" are already answered in the frequently asked questions, and what is not there they can ask from the invitation. On the day itself the programme runs live on their phone.
How it works with your wedding planner or master of ceremonies
Working with a wedding planner? Let the planner create the wedding: the planner invites you with a link and you work along with the same rights, in the same guest list and the same invitation. Did you start yourselves? Then you invite the planner in the same way from your dashboard; the wedding then also appears in the planner's overview. A master of ceremonies gets a role of their own: they manage the speeches, the announcements and the guests' questions, and can keep surprises hidden from you. Invitesly replaces nobody; it replaces the Excel sheet, the WhatsApp group and the retyping. Read more on For wedding planners and What a master of ceremonies does.
What happens after the wedding
The page turns by itself into a place of memories: the photographer's photos and videos, the aftermovie, the photos guests shared via the QR code on the table and the guest book are together on it. With Invitesly that page stays online for 24 months, counted from the wedding day itself.
Who this is the right choice for
A digital wedding invitation suits couples who do not want to keep RSVPs and dietary needs in a list, and who want to keep something after the wedding that does not sink away in a group chat. With or without a planner. In doubt between providers? Comparing wedding websites puts the options side by side. Would you rather build something yourselves? Frequently asked questions
What is a digital wedding invitation?
A digital wedding invitation is a personal web page that brings the invitation, RSVP and guest information together, instead of a paper card plus a separate RSVP email plus a photo link afterwards. Guests open the page through a link, without an account. With Invitesly that page grows along: before the day RSVP and programme, afterwards the memory page for 24 months.
Is a digital wedding invitation appropriate for a wedding?
Yes, as long as it is personal. An invitation in a theme of its own, with the guests' names already filled in and the whole day on one page, feels different from a group chat. Missing the tangible card? Combine: a paper save the date or card with a QR code to the digital page for RSVP and the latest news.
How do you send a digital wedding invitation?
With Invitesly you put the guest list in (type it or import it from Excel), after which every household gets its own link by email. You send per household, so guests added later get their invitation separately. Anyone who has not responded yet automatically gets a reminder before the RSVP deadline.
How do guests respond to a digital wedding invitation?
A guest opens their household's link, sees the names already filled in and says per person and per part of the day whether they are coming, with dietary needs. No login and no app are needed. The answer lands straight on your guest list and can be changed through the same link until the RSVP deadline.
How much does a digital wedding invitation cost?
With Invitesly € 99 one-off per wedding, with no guest limit, all modules and the memory page included. You build for free and only pay when the page goes live. For comparison: a hundred paper wedding cards cost € 240 to € 440 together in printing and postage.
Does a digital wedding invitation also work if we have a wedding planner?
Yes. With Invitesly your planner works in the same place, with the same rights: the planner creates the wedding and invites you with a link, or you start yourselves and invite the planner. You see the same guest list and RSVPs. A master of ceremonies can get a role of their own too, for speeches and guests' questions.
What happens to a digital wedding invitation after the wedding?
With Invitesly the page turns into a place of memories with photos, videos, the aftermovie and the guest book, and it stays online for 24 months after the wedding day. You download photos and videos yourselves from the page; an export function for everything at once we are still building.
